This is getting scary now. Halsey has been teasing their new album, The Great Impersonator, with a countdown featuring a series of photos where the singer is dressed up and made up like the artists who have inspired the songs on her new album, and their latest impersonation is wildly good: David Bowie.
Halsey's David Bowie impersonation is teasing track number 11 on The Great Impersonator, "Darwinism," and in the caption she wrote, "Ziggy Stardust, The Starman, The Thin White Duke, The Picasso of Pop, Major Tom, The Master of Reinvention and The Chameleon of Rock… DAVID BOWIE."
In the photo, Halsey is wearing a yellow suit with a yellow and white striped shirt, while rocking short red hair styled just like Bowie — right down to the different color eyes!
In a video of Halsey's David Bowie shoot, fans can hear a small snippet of "Darwinism," and it's very David Bowie-sounding a la "Life On Mars."
The Great Impersonator is Halsey's fifth studio album following 2021's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power, and features previously-released tracks like "Lucky," "Lonely Is The Muse" and "Ego." She has said of her new set of songs, "I made this record in the space between life and death. And it feels like I’ve waited an eternity for you to have it. I’ll wait a bit longer. I’ve waited a decade, already."
