It's been 15 years since Michael Jackson suddenly passed away at the age of 50, and one of his children is marking the sad anniversary in an emotional message to the King of Pop.

Prince Jackson, the oldest child of the "Thriller" singer, took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (June 25) on the 15th anniversary of his father's death to share a heartbreaking post dedicated to his superstar father. Michael Jackson passed away June 25, 2009, at just 50 years old after going into cardiac arrest. The now-deleted post, which was shared by Entertainment Tonight, captured Jackson smiling and performing during his 1993 Super Bowl XXVII halftime show.

"Miss you pops," the 27 year old wrote over the pic, which was set to the 1985 charity single "We Are the World," written by Jackson and Lionel Richie. "The world felt better with you in it."

The tribute comes a few months after Prince and his siblings Paris Jackson, 26, and Bigi Jackson, 22, made a rare appearance together at a preview performance of MJ: The Musical in London, a show based on the "Smooth Criminal" musician's 1992 Dangerous World Tour, per ET.

Prince previous spoke to E! News in October 2022 about how he keeps his father's memory alive and continues to honors his legacy.

"I have photos of him and the uncles inside my house," he said. "I have artistic paintings of him around my house. I like to lead my life with love, which is what he taught me and I try to help at least one person a day and I feel like that is a way of continuing his legacy."
