Beyoncé announced her Renaissance World Tour and pledged $1 million in scholarships to colleges on her tour route. Making good on the promise, the singer’s BeyGood foundation gave $100,000 in scholarship funding for 10 students at the Detroit School for Digital Technology ahead of her concert at Ford Field. Southwest Detroit school offers programs in digital marketing, business technology, and more. It hosted a visit from then-U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in 2017. Beyoncé's DSDT scholarship isn't her first philanthropic effort in Michigan. In 2016, she donated $82,000 for water relief efforts in Flint, including money from fans during her Formation World Tour. She set aside $1,000 for 14 Detroit high school sophomores with college plans.

The day before Beyoncé’s scheduled concert in a city, BeyGOOD will host luncheons for entrepreneurs who have the chance to win a grant from the $100 thousand allocated for each networking event. BeyGOOD plans to support a thousand small businesses with a total donation of $1 million. See the Black Parade Route here!
