102.7 KIIS FM Jingle Ball presented by Capital One returned to the KIA Forum on Friday (December 2). Holiday spirit was in full swing thanks to a star-studded line-up, including acts like Dua Lipa, Jack Harlow, Pitbull, and more.

Nicky Youre joined us in The Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge to talk about performing at Jingle Ball, figuring himself out as an artist, and his support system back home.

After becoming a superstar in 2022 with his smash hit 'Sunroof', Nicky Youre has had an astronomical climb in his music career. Debuting at #87 on the Billboard Hot 100 and eventually hitting the #1 spot, his entire life has changed. Being asked to perform at KIIS FM's Jingle Ball was a huge jump from where was just earlier this year.

"It was a little scary. It was my ninth show, I think, ever! So, to go from a really small room in March, which was my very first show, to this is super crazy and very surreal for me, and I got through it... I had so much fun up there but walking on stage is the hardest part,... once you're on it's a lot of fun."

Hilariously, despite his hit song being called "Sunroof", Nicky Youre does not have a sunroof in his car--yet. He says he was "real close to getting a Mercedes" and has plans to "pull the trigger next year", declaring "there will be a sunroof, if I get one, of course."

Through the success, Nicky is also taking time to fully embrace the journey.

"I'm looking forward to figuring out myself, what I want to be as an artist over this next year."

In 2023, Nicky Youre has big plans to further his career including "a ton of writing, releasing as much new music as [he] can, and hopefully doing some touring."

His family and friend's reaction to this sudden success has been heartwarming, "texting [Nicky Youre] that they had cried, cause they were in the audience" during his performance tonight.

"I definitely feel very blessed to have very supportive parents and friends."
