Hold Up...Bay Area Man Got A Parking Ticket After Curb Was Repainted Red

Make it make sense! According to ABC 7, a San Francisco man is fighting a parking ticket due to being parked in a red zone AFTER it was repainted red while his car was parked.

Desiree and Jeff Jolly have been parking in that spot for 25 years whenever it was open since parking is such a challenge in the city. As they were walking up from the store one day, they noticed a parking ticket on their car for being in the red zone.

"The red stripe is there, where it wasn't before, and they had the nerve to just to go around my tire," she described, pointing out a small patch the city's paint shop missed when they avoided painting the Honda's tire.

According to a spokesperson for SFMTA, they said the violation is for being parked in an old faded red zone. This ticket situation is so confusing because when you see the pictures from the parking spot, the paint is completely faded and seems like a normal parking spot and not a red zone. The citations clerk will now need to figure out what will happen next - enforce or dismiss the parking ticket, which can take up to 60 days. Head over to ABC 7 to see the photos and decide for yourself whether this couple was wronged.
