Mariah Carey Is Being Sued Over Her Hit - 'All I Want For Christmas Is You'

According to TMZ, Mariah Carey is being sued over her hit Christmas song, "All I Want For Christmas Is You," by another artist who has claimed that their song inspired hers.

Mariah is being sued for copyright infringement by Andy Stone, who co-wrote and recorded a song called, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" a few years before she released her hit song. In the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, Andy claimed that he recorded his song in 1989 and filmed a music video for it. The song got extensive airplay and even made it to the Billboard charts during 1993's Christmas season. Andy is also saying that he was never asked for permission to use the title of his song by Mariah or her team.

Mariah released her version in 1994 with a music video as well and has been a classic hit ever since! Besides having the same song title the two songs are completely different and you can check out the videos above and below to see for yourself. Andy is asking Mariah for $20 million in damages.
