You'll Now Need To Ask For A Straw Next Time You Go To Starbucks

According to KTLA 5, Starbucks across California will not give customers straws, cutlery or splash sticks unless they ask for some whether it be in the drive-thru or inside the stores.

The new policy starts today, June 1, and an email was sent out to customers in California to explain why they won't hand out the straws, cutlery or splash sticks. This action is part of a state wide effort signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom back in October to help reduce the amount of plastic waste. Places who break the law will receive a notice for their first and second violation but after that there could be a fine of $25 each day the law is broken. Click here for more.
