The Cecil Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles gained worldwide attention after the Netflix documentary, and will now be converted into affordable housing. The Skid Row Housing Trust announced on Tuesday that this building will now be converted into affordable housing and even celebrated with a ribbon cutting! The hotel will be able to provide affordable housing for 600 low-income individuals. Matt Baron CEO of Simon Baron Development says:

"Unlike other affordable and permanent supportive housing developments, this project was funded and will operate as self-sustaining with private capital. We are really excited to bring this solution to the growing number of people who are suffering on the streets and are in need of a home."
