This week EJ talked with Tim Weisberg, the Acting Deputy Director of Marketing and Public Affairs for the California Office of Traffic Safety. Tim gave us some great tips on staying safe while driving this holiday season!

- If you are planing to make a long trip this season, make sure your car is up to date and everything is in working order!

- Use the Cal Trans Quick App! Which gives you real time traffic conditions!

- If you are going up to the mountains where there are more severe weather, pack snacks and water in case of emergency!

- Have activities for your kids in the car!

- Switch off with another person every 100 miles or so!
- Anticipate more cars on the road, especially post- covid!

- Be PATIENT! You will get there when you get there!

- Be wary of drunk drivers, especially during the holiday season.

- It takes at least 3 hours to get alcohol out of your system fully. So make sure you wait at least that long after drinking before you drive.

- Drinking water is a myth! Time is the only thing that can make you sober!

- Eat before you drink!

- Have a sober driver! Use rideshare apps! Or spend the night!

- Stay safe this holiday season!
