L.A. May Start Requiring Vaccine Proof At Restaurants, Gyms & Indoor Events

According to the LA Times, Los Angeles will consider requiring proof of vaccination at restaurants, gyms, and indoor events. In a motion by Council President Nury Martinez and Council member Mitch O'Farrell, it would require individuals to prove they have received at least one dose of the vaccine to enter specific places. The spaces would include: restaurants, bars, retail stores, gyms, spas, movie theaters, stadiums and concert venues. In a statement, Council President Nury Martinez said:

“Enough is enough already, Hospital workers are exhausted, moms who have put aside their careers are tired, and our kids cannot afford the loss of another school year. We have three vaccines that work and are readily available, so what’s it going to take? Our kids are about to return to school, and the unvaccinated are putting their lives at risk every day. Ask your questions, talk to your doctor and get the vaccine. Let’s put this behind us."

Privately owned spaces in L.A. have taken matter into their own hands, and have already started to require proof of vaccination to enter. You can see the full list of places here. Get your California Digital Vaccine Card here.
