The Dodgers have surprised shoppers at a Smart & Final in South Los Angeles with free groceries!
KTLA reports that the Dodgers picked up the tab at the checkout counters at the Smart & Final Extra! store located at 9850 S. Laurel St., bordering the Watts and Florence-Firestone communities. This amazing act of kindness happened Thursday morning.
According to KTLA and a press release from Smart & Final, the first hour of the event (6 to 7 a.m) was reserved for elderly shoppers (60 years +), expectant mothers, those with disabilities. First responders were also included in this!
The report continues that The Dodgers Foundation agreed to pay for all those lucky shopper's groceries during the 6-7 a.m. shopping time. Can you imagine being surprised with free groceries, and best of all, courtesy of The Dodgers?
KTLA says The Dodgers continued to pay for groceries for many shoppers for about another hour once the general public was allowed to enter the store at 7 a.m.
