Did Shawn Mendes' Mom Respond To Rumors He's Dating Camila Cabello?

Update: Even though Mendes follows @KarenRayment on Instagram, a representative for Mendes revealed that the account is not actually run by his mother.

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes raised plenty of eyebrows after their steamy music video for "Señorita" and we're all in the dark as to whether the pair is romantic, especially since Cabello is newly single.

On Wednesday (June 26), Mendes' mother, Karen Rayment, commented on Cabello's new Instagram post, which shares a behind-the-scenes look at the clip and her response was all sorts of telling. "This is basically how I'm handling all of my feelings from now on hope it all works out," the 22-year-old captioned a clip of her and Mendes, to which she responded with the pink heart and romantic couple emojis. When one user suggested that Karen "please tell them to date," she replied with the closed eye monkey emoji.

Earlier in the week, Cabello shared some sweet words about Mendes in a post via Instagram. "You’ve been in my life for 5 years now and it’s a hell of a ride growing up together," she wrote. "Thank you for always being being there for me and having my back, and also for saying funny sh*t during takes so it was impossible not to laugh. Everybody on here that loves you would only love you more if they really knew you." Cabello ended her note by sending kind words to the fans supporting the duo's new collaboration. "Thanks to the fans for being so excited!!! it’s so fun to see and we love you," she concluded.

Cabello is performing at this year's iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September alongside a lineup of superstar artists. Fans across the country can tune in and watch an exclusive live stream of the show via The CW App and CWTV.com. Then, on October 2nd and 3rd, relive all of the epic performances from the weekend during a televised special on The CW Network at 8pm ET/PT. And leading up to the official television special, The CW will also air an hour-long Best Of Special on Sunday, September 29th at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
