Camila Cabello sent the audience into a trance when she emerged through rain onstage at the 2018 KIIS FM Jingle Ball presented by Capital One at The Forum in Los Angeles on Friday, November 30.
The songstress kicked off her performance with a soulful rendition of “Never Be the Same” before addressing the crowd and giving an equally soulful speech on love. “Whether you’re here with someone you love right now or you’re thinking about someone you love,” she teased ahead of surprising the crowd with a light cover of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”
The cover segued the former Fifth Harmony member to the piano, where she took the audiences’ breath away by performing “Consequences.”
“A lot of people say ballads like this are ‘risky’ and with every single I’ve picked I get looks like I have three heads, because people always want you to go with a song that sounds like something that’s already on the radio,” Camila wrote on Instagram in October, explaining why she chose the song as her latest single. “It would be playing it safe for me to make a song that sounds like ‘Havana’ or another uptempo song, but to me, my goal is to challenge myself by not doing what feels predictable or obvious, to do things that excite me, and give you the most honest representation of who I am through music.”
The songstress will forever hold “Havana” close to her heart though and concluded her set with an upbeat performance of the chart-topping song.
