How To Survive The Coachella Weather

posted by Krissy Rivard -

Coachella, California is known to be hot and the temperatures during weekend one and two are always no joke. Although its scorching throughout the days, by night fall it's usually cold and extremely windy. If you are wondering how to beat the heat and stay cool, but also keep warm, check out this list!

#1: STAY HYDRATED!

This is so important while in the dessert, if you aren't staying hydrated and constantly drinking water you are much more prone to passing out and missing your favorite artist and nobody wants that. Do yourself a favor and continuously drink a lot of water throughout the weekend to ensure you're good to go each day.

#2: EZ-UP

If you're camping, invest in an EZ-UP. Just trust us, you're going to seriously regret it if you don't. You will be the only person in the entire camp site without any shade at all throughout the day when you aren't inside the festival yet and this will seriously put a damper on everyone's moods. Tapestries are also great to hang off the sides of the EZ-UP so sun won't be able to come in at all.

#3: Portable fans

Portable fans are another great purchase that you are not going to want to miss out on. Especially if you are camping, nothing is worse than the dry heat for hours on end as you're hanging out in your camp sites throughout the day. A portable fan is also great to have because they're completely battery operated so you don't have to worry about not having anything to plug it into.

#4: Sunscreen

This should absolutely just be a given, but every single year there is always somebody that forgets their sunscreen. You're going to be in and out of the hot sun all day for 3 days straight, even after applying multiple layers, you're still bound to get burnt so prepare right and pack multiple bottles.

#5: Sleeping bags, blankets, and warm clothes

This is extremely important for when night time hits. Most people think Coachella is just extremely hot at all times since it's in the dessert, but in reality it's freezing and windy when it hits night time and you're going to be thankful you packed the extra clothes. Just be prepared to be sweating again by 8am if you're sleeping inside your tent because the heat will definitely wake you up in the morning.
