Disney's California Adventure Is Replacing Cove Bar

Say goodbye to the Cove Bar and Ariel's Grotto at Disney's California Adventure — the two popular eateries are being replaced by something new called the Lamplight Lounge.

As Disney is working to create the upcoming Pixar Pier, it makes sense that these locations would be changing up their design.

However, we are prepared to answer your biggest question: YES, the Lamplight Lounge will serve the famous lobster nachos that helped make the Cove Bar such a huge success!

According to the Disney Parks blog, “Lamplight Lounge will serve California casual gastro-pub cuisine that is playfully presented along with unique signature cocktails. This seaside lounge contains a full bar with picturesque waterfront views from both upstairs and downstairs. At night, outdoor seating provides views of the illuminated Pixar Pier and World of Color." Sounds amazing!

Lamplight Lounge will have small bits and pieces left behind from the Disney artists who are "regulars" in the restaurant. According to Disney Parks, "concept art, a quick sketch on a napkin, knick-knacks and collectable toys of beloved Pixar characters will adorn the space."

Disney had previously announced that Pixar Pier will consist of four lands and a new ride — The Incredicoaster. This ride will be an updated version of the park's most iconic rollercoaster, California Screamin'. It will consist of special effects, character figures and lighting that will immerse you in the world of The Incredibles.

The Incredibles are even getting their own float when the "Paint The Night" parade moves to California Adventure!

If you are still mourning the loss of the Cove Bar, don't fret. According to the OC Register, it will be reopening on March 16 and close again in May. Move quick if you want to get in there one last time!

Pixar Pier and Lamplight Lounge will be opening on June 23. We can't wait to see what California Adventure has done with the place!
