I love them for this!! Even though George and Amal Clooney are expecting twins soon, that didn't stop them from giving back. The couple donated $10,000 to Camp Cocker Rescue, a dog rescue in Los Angeles who took in nine dogs from a backyard breeder. According to the rescue's Facebook page, they received an offer from a donor to match donations for the month for up to $10,000.
"Well, you can imagine how blown away we were when we heard that a $10,000 donation was pledged to our doggies. Our generous donors would like to see their donation doubled by all of you, so for the month of May, every dollar you donate will be matched (up until we reach $10,000)."
After receiving the offer the rescue couldn't believe the generosity. They first asked permission from the donors to reveal their identity and then announced to their followers that it was George And Amal and encouraged people to match the donation.
I love that George Clooney supports shelter dogs and has chosen adoption!! George has adopted two cocker spaniels from Camp Cocker Rescue, and adopted a third dog from the San Gabriel Valley Humane Society.
The video below shows just what these poor dogs went through and the conditions they lived in. The breeders were only concerned with profit and not with the care of the dogs. Sadly this is all too common for dogs who come from puppy mills and backyard breeders. Please always make adoption your first option.
