If you're a pet owner and insist on talking in a high pitched voice to them it actually isn't as silly as you may think it is! A study has shown that people who talk to animals in this way is a huge sign of intelligence.
Dr Nicholas Epley, a professor of behavioral science at the University of Chicago said, "Historically, anthropomorphizing has been treated as a sign of childishness or stupidity, but it's actually a natural byproduct of the tendency that makes humans uniquely smart on this planet."
So keep talking to your pets in that ridiculous voice!
