When you're going to hike to the Hollywood Sign, a very well known entrance point is on Beachwood Ave. City officials in LA are saying this entrance point will be closing April 18th. Hikers will no longer be able to travel up the Beachwood Canyon road to access the Hollyridge Trail and some other possible paths.
There are still other ways to get to the sign like other paths and roads to get up there, but their goal with this is to limit the number of pedestrians on the route. There has been times in the past where homeowners in the area have complained about drivers and hikers causing congestion in the area, so I'm assuming they're hoping this will fix that problem. They have said that this path could attract up to 15,000 people a month! A MONTH!
I understand it, I'm sure it gets pretty busy up there because lets be real, hiking to the Hollywood Sign is awesome!
