The Big Bang Theory has been on FOREVER it seems! Actually Season 1 premiered back in 2007, so yeah it is safe to say it has been on forever. Well, maybe the reason it has lasted SO long is because the cast has hearts of GOLD, aside from it being so successful.
Recently it was announced that the five leading stars of the show - Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg would all be taking pay cuts. Presently they all make $1 million per episode, but will all take $100,000 out of that salary.
The reason behind this is remarkable. Turns out the female co-stars Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch make $200,000 per episode presently. So by the five leads taking paying cuts it allows that money to go towards raises for Mayim and Melissa - putting them at $450,000 per episode.
LOVE how this cast is such a team and looks out for each other. Contract negotiations are being finalized this week so fingers crossed everyone walks away happy and is treated fair!
