SoCal Isn't Out Of The Drought Just Yet

With all of this rain in Los Angeles recently it’s hard to believe that we are still in a drought – but State Water Resources officials say differently.

Even though it was reported that the Sierra Nevada snowpack measured to be around 170% above normal for this year, officials announced that they are extending the emergency regulations for at least another three months. They say that although Northern California seems to be free from the drought, Southern California is still in the moderate to severe range. Before the extension, the restrictions were set to expire in May.

This means that we will all have to continue to be aware of our water usage and try to conserve. So the measures still stand – no watering your lawn within 48 hours of a rainstorm, or hosing your sidewalks – or ya know, showering for an hour!

On the plus side, our local SoCal water agencies did say we’re out of the danger zone!
