On the last and final day of Style Fashion Week LA, there were two designers that particularly caught my attention, Quynh Paris and Furne One. They both had an avant-garde style, which I loved. Quynh Paris, a Vietnamese designer, comes from a very artistic background graduating from the frfench fashion school Mod’ Art International. You could tell right away these pieces of clothing weren’t just ordinary. As the models came out one by one down the runway I pictured these outfits on celebrities like Ke$ha or Lady GaGa. Quynh’s haute couture fall/winter 2014 collection were more like pieces of art as she showed her experimentation with the structure of classic design. The elaborate embellishments on each outfit evoked a sense of impressiveness in her collection. Using certain materials you wouldn’t normally see on dresses and tops this designer goes above and beyond when creating her designs.
Furne One was the closing fashion show ending LA Fashion Week. Originally from the Philippines this Dubai based designer has never been in such high demand. Quickly moving up the ladder in the fashion world Heidi Klum, Shakira, and Katy Perry are just few of the celebrities who can be seen wearing his designs. I was stuck in awe watching this specific show. With a collection of such intricate designs and using colors such as pastels like rose, soft yellow, and teal blue each design was a breath of fresh air.
What an amazing time I had at fashion week. I learned a lot and came across a few new designers that I now love! Special thanks to Style Fashion Week LA for letting me join in on such a spectacular event. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the spring/summer!
