"Milli-Can" is a non-profit organization started in 2006 by Millikan High School Campus Security Officer Beatriz Nieves. The motto of the club is "Hope Can Change Lives," and the main goal is for student members to graduate and become productive citizens. Membership includes a mix of both at-risk and role model students. In addition, Milli-Can members are shown the importance of community service by involvement with charitable events such as the Long Beach Memorial Children's Clinic Beach Walk, Special Education Dances, and KaBOOM! Build-A-Park in One Day.

Members of this “Milli-Can” club feel as though they’re joining a family and literally see student cliques dissolve as the diverse student body is united.  The club reaches out to students with an unstable lifeline showing them gang fights, graffiti, drugs and alcohol do not have to be the norm.  Rather, their lives can be enriched with school musicals, sports, community fundraisers, educational trips and magical prom nights.
