ZAYN hit the stage at KIIS FM's Wango Tango last weekend to perform tracks off his debut solo album, Mind of Mine.
He did "iI's YoU," "LIKE I WOULD" and "SHE DON'T LOVE ME," among others, but there was a big question on everyone's mind: Why didn't he perform his hit single "PILLOWTALK"?
Well, KIIS program director John Ivey laid out On Air With Ryan Seacrest. Listen here:
Ivey says ZAYN has been nervous during his transition from band member to solo artist.
"He just doesn't think [PILLOWTALK] sounds good live, which is interesting being it's the first single," he continued.
He did a line from "PILLOWTALK" at the iHeartRadio Music Awards this year, but that's it. The Wango Tango set is the longest he's done as a solo artist, which is a giant step for ZAYN.
Listen to the everything Ivey had to say in the interview with Ryan Seacrest above.
Bottom line, accorting to Ivey: "If there's something you particularly don't like to do, you probably try to avoid it."
