Starting this summer, California bars and nightclubs will be a little bit safer…
Yesterday, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (which I did NOT know was a thing) announced that a new bill will go into effect on July 1st.
This new law requires bars and clubs to offer kits for testing drinks…so you can check YOUR drink has been spiked with “roofies” for example.
Basically any place that serves beer, wine and hard alcohol will have to offer this option. And they will need to post signs so customers know they can ask for it!
The businesses need to obtain the kits themselves and can’t charge more than a reasonable amount…and if they don’t have these kits ready to go by July 1st… they could have their license taken away.
