Watch Lorde Cover Kanye West's 'Runaway,' Debut New Songs At Coachella (VIDEOS)

Lorde helped close out the first weekend of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival by delivering her brief cover of Kanye West's "Runaway" Sunday night.

Right before the New Zealand singer performed her somber Melodramatic track "Liability," she told the audience that the chord progression playing in the background reminded her of West's 2010 release, then proceeded to sing its chorus with her signature husky vocals.

During her set, she also played "Green Light" -- the hiatus-ending single that was released in early March -- her older hits "Team," "Tennis Court," and "Royals," as well as debut performances of her new songs "Homemade Dynamite" and "Sober."

Melodramatic, which serves as the official followup to Lorde's 2013 debut Pure Heroine, is out June 16 via LAVA/Republic Records.

Weekend 1 of Coachella concluded with headliner Kendrick Lamar performing songs off his new album DAMN. Sunday night. Weekend 2 kicks off this Friday (April 21) and will see the same lineup featuring Lady Gaga, Radiohead, Martin Garrix, Future, and many more. See more from Lorde's performance below.
