PERRIS (CNS) - A tractor-trailer carrying sand on Interstate 215 crashed  into a overpass under construction in Perris today, causing a bridge under  construction to partially collapse and resulting in a full freeway closure for  a time.

No injuries were reported in the 10:05 a.m. accident, which caused the  big rig to overturn south of Nuevo Road, Riverside County Fire Department  spokeswoman Jennifer Fuhrman said.

Part of the bridge, which is in a construction zone, fell into the  northbound lanes, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The southbound lanes reopened about 11:45 a.m., but the northbound lanes  were expected to be closed for about 12 hours for the cleanup, according to  Caltrans.
