According to a journalism doctoral student's research of nearly 600 Twitter users of different ages, men who are active Twitter users are more likely to experience Twitter-related conflict in dating and marriage relationships, which could lead to divorce, breakups and cheating.

But not all the fights were over tweets - some of them were caused by one partner being more interested in Twitter than the relationship.

The study also shows Facebook is bad for relationships too, especially of three years or less.

But Twitter use had a bad impact on relationships no matter how long they'd been going on.
