Listen to ZEDD on iHeartRadio

EDM producer Zedd wasted no time jumping into his pulse-pounding set at Jingle Ball. He jumped in front of his rig and started bumping “Clarity” featuring Foxes. The track is from his recently release full-length album with the same title.

The electro-house producer seamlessly transitioned into Knife Party’s “Internet Friends (You Blocked Me on Facebook).” Many in the audience checked to see if their iPhones were ringing because the song features a series of Apple sounds (I know I did). Zedd kicked it up a notch by jumping into his bass heavy club staple, “Everybody F*cking Jump.” He commanded the audience to get on its feet and immediately dropped the heavy four-on-the-floor bass that made the walls shake.

During his set, Zedd projected large neon images to accompany his audio. At one point, when the bass kicked in, an image of his name shattered like it was an actual earthquake. The producer cut into some Grimey samples filled with quick cuts and regeneration before jumping into “Feel So Close” by Calvin Harris. The audience chanted the songs ‘anthemic’ lyrics.

Zedd closed out his set with his hit “Spectrum” featuring Matthew Koma. The track cut after some polyrhythmic beats and dropped straight into fat dub bass for the chorus. Everything was shaking from the reverberation of the bass.

The producer didn’t waste any time speaking, but instead let his music and mixing speak for themselves. Plus, it’d be hard to understand Zedd’s German accent.

Zedd will be ringing in the New Year by headlining a show at Club Nokia.
