After two failed proposals on The Bachelorette and one stint on the franchise's summer spinoff Bachelor in Paradise, The Bachelor veteran Nick Viall concluded his long and winding journey to find "the one" when he got down on one knee and popped the question to Vanessa Grimaldi on Monday.
Although it took Viall four TV attempts to find his love, Grimaldi knew there was something special about the 29-year-old entrepreneur the second she stepped out of the limo. "I was like, 'Oh boy, this is going to be a very interesting journey,'" she told On Air with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday. "He was very good looking, very charismatic, and as things progressed, I remember our first one-on-one, I knew there was something different between us."
She added: "It was just like a spark, a spark that I [did not think] was going to happen so quickly and early on in the process. Things just developed quite quickly along the way. I knew I wanted to end up with Nick at the end of it, but I had my questions whether or not I wanted to end up engaged." When asked if she feels good about her engagement now, she concluded: "I am. I'm very happy!"
Now that Viall's Bachelor run has come to an end, he will appear as a contestant on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. Viall is paired with Peta Murgatroyd and will compete against Nancy Kerrigan and Artem Chigvintzev, Mr. T and Kym Herjavec, Heather Morris and Maksim Chemerkovskiy, Erika Jayne and Gleb Savchenko, David Ross and Lindsay Arnold, Chis Kattan and Witney Carson, Charo and Keo Motsepe, Bonner Bolton and Sharna Burgess, Fifth Harmony's Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater, and Simon Biles and Sasha Farber.
"My entire body hurts. Everything [Peta] asks me to do is painful and we'll see," Viall said. "I think [Peta] is pretty great and I hope I can just keep up my end of the bargain."
Season 24 of Dancing with the Stars will premiere on Monday, March 20 at 8/7c on ABC.
